Caddo Nation Tribal Member Francey Freeman Honored with University of Oklahoma Outstanding Staff Award

The Caddo Nation proudly celebrates tribal member Francey Cussen Freeman, who was recently recognized as the 2025 University of Oklahoma Outstanding Staff Member. This prestigious honor acknowledges her exceptional contributions and dedication to student success.

Francey currently serves as the College of Earth and Energy Coordinator of Student Relations. In this vital role, she chairs the scholarship selection committee, recruits students, and develops industry networks to create valuable internship and permanent job opportunities for students. Most importantly, she provides crucial support to students as they work toward their academic and professional goals.
Her outstanding work has been instrumental in increasing the number of graduates in the College of Earth and Energy. The Dean of the College, John Antonio, recognized her positive contributions and nominated her for this award.
The Caddo Nation extends our heartfelt congratulations to Francey on this well-deserved recognition. Her commitment to higher education and student success reflects the values of excellence and service that are deeply rooted in our Caddo heritage. We are immensely proud of her achievements and the positive impact she continues to make at the University of Oklahoma.
Francey is the great-great-great granddaughter of Chief and Mrs. Whitebread, John and Mary Inkanish; great-great granddaughter of Ellen Murrow, Grimes Aikens and Strongman and Louise Elliott; great granddaughter of Grace Aikens and Paul Wolfe Frank, Frank and Alice Inkanish Cussen; granddaughter of Tommy and Reathia Cussen; and daughter of Frances Cussen and the late Gary Kodaseet and Bill Freeman.
The Caddo Nation celebrates Francey's accomplishments and looks forward to her continued success as she inspires the next generation of students and represents our community with distinction.
