The Caddo Nation Community Health Representative (CHR) and Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI) is bringing an important health resource directly to tribal members: a recurring Diabetic Podiatry Clinic designed to address one of the most common and serious complications of diabetes foot and lower limb health.

The clinic runs every other Tuesday, beginning March 3, 2026, giving diabetic community members consistent, scheduled access to specialized podiatric care. Foot complications are among the leading causes of hospitalization for people living with diabetes, making regular podiatry check-ups a critical component of long-term disease management. Programs like this one help close a significant gap in preventive care for Native communities, which face disproportionately high rates of diabetes nationwide.

"Consistent podiatry care can prevent serious complications  and this program brings that access directly to the community."

The CHR program has long served as a frontline health resource for the Caddo Nation, connecting members with services, education, and care coordination. The SDPI, funded through the Indian Health Service, specifically targets diabetes prevention and treatment in Native communities. Together, the two programs make this clinic possible as part of a broader commitment to community wellness.

To participate in the podiatry clinic, individuals must have a diabetes diagnosis and provide a letter of proof from their Primary Care Physician. Appointments are required, walk-ins are not available for this clinic.

Schedule a podiatry appointment: Call 405-345-9874 to book your spot at the next available clinic date. Have your physician's letter ready when you call.

The event runs from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and will be held at 117 Memorial Ln, Binger, OK 73009. Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles throughout. Pets must be at least 12 weeks old to receive the vaccine, and rabies tags and certifications will be issued on-site. The clinic is free of charge, making it a valuable opportunity for pet owners across the area to ensure their animals are protected.
